HIGH DROPOUT INSTANTANEOUS UNIT
The high dropout instantaneous unit is similar to the standard instantaneous unit,
except the dropout current is approximatel y
80
to
90%
of the pickup current.

The adjustabl e core
(A)
sets the pickup l evel .
Turning the core down (cl ockwise,
top view) l owers the pickup, whil e turning the core up (counterclockwise, top view)
increases
the
pi
c
k
up
.
Before
attempting
to turn the core, the
locknut (B)
must be
loosened.
When l oosening or tightening the l ocknut, the sleeve
(C)
to which the
shading ring
(D)
is attached, must be held to prevent it from turning.
The l ocknut
must be retightened after adjusting the core.
Rotating the shading ring sets the
dropout l evel, thereby determining the quietness of operation when in the picked-up
