Using the Glass Carafe Drip Coffee Maker
Before Use
•
FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.
• If using the coffee maker for the first time, remove all packing
material and clean the main unit and all accessories.
• If your coffee maker has gone unused for and extended time,
we recommend cleaning the main unit and all accessories to
ensure good performance and great tasting coffee.
• To assemble the Charcoal Filter:
1. Lift the coffee maker lid and remove the charcoal water filter
from the brew basket.
2. Remove the filter from the plastic packaging.
3. Lift and remove the filter wand from the water reservoir.
4. Open the bottom filter housing on the filter wand and
assemble the charcoal water filter.
5. Close the filter housing on the filter wand, making sure the
closure is secured.
6. Replace the filter wand in the water reservoir.
7. Filter installation is complete.
NOTE:
It is recommended to change your charcoal filter every
three months.
How to Use
1. Lift to open the Coffee Maker lid. Fill the carafe with cold tap
water (20-25°C) and pour into the water reservoir at the back
of the unit. The stepped water level indicator can be easily
viewed inside the unit to help aid with water level accuracy.
IMPORTANT
: Before brewing, always check to make sure the
water level is past the
MIN
line and add water if needed. Never
exceed the
MAX
fill line.
NOTE:
The amount of brewed coffee will always be less than the
amount of water placed into the water reservoir; as much as 10%
is absorbed by coffee grounds and filter.
2. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
3. Place the permanent filter in the removable filter holder.
Measure 2 level tablespoons of drip or regular ground coffee
for each cup of coffee desired. For stronger or milder coffee,
adjust amount of coffee to suit your taste.
4. Drop the filter holder down into the housing. Close the lid.
5. Plug the Coffee Maker into a 120V AC electrical wall outlet.
6. After powering on, press
Brew/Cancel
once. The
Brew/
Cancel
led light will illuminate and your coffee maker will begin
brewing.
7. When brewing, pressing
Brew/Cancel
again will cancel the
brew cycle. When pressed, the button LED light will flash three
time before the brew cycle is canceled, and brewing stops.
8. After brewing completes, the coffee maker will automatically
enter a "keep warm" mode, turning on the warming plate in
the base of the unit, for 2 hours. The warming plate will turn off
automatically after 2 hours.
Set the clock
A. Press the
Hour/Min
. button to enter clock setting mode. The
default of "12:00AM" will be displayed upon initial plug-in.
B. Program the hour of day using the left and right arrow buttons.
Once complete, press the
Hour/Min
. button again to change to
programming Minutes.
C. Now program minutes by using the left and right arrows.
D. Once Hours and Minutes are programmed, press
Hour/Min
again to program AM or PM. Select AM or PM and press
Hour/
Min
to confirm your selection. Clock setup is now complete and
the coffee maker will return to is idle screen.
NOTE:
if the
Brew/Cancel
button is pressed in the middle of
programming a new time, the new time will be discarded, and the
previous clock time will be displayed.
NOTE:
While setting the clock, if there is no button press for 15
seconds, the machine will accept the current displayed time as the
new time, and exit clock setting mode.
NOTE:
if the coffee maker is in standby mode, and the control
display is off, press and hold Hour/Min button to enter into clock
setup mode.
Function selection:
A.
Brew coffee mode
: Press the
Brew/Cancel
button to start
brewing coffee. Press the button again to cancel the brew
cycle.
NOTE:
While brewing, all display and function buttons are
unavailable until brewing completes.
B.
Bold Brew Mode
: For bolder, stronger tasting coffee, press
Bold Brew
prior to starting a brew cycle. Press
Bold Brew
again to turn the function off. Press
Brew/Cancel
after
programming to start a Bold Brew cycle.
C.
1-4 Cups Brew Mode
: For smaller batch brewing, press the
1-4 Cups button
. Press the button again to turn the setting off.
NOTE:
Both the
Bold Brew
and
1-4 Cups
setting can be on at
the same time. Simply press both buttons and then press
Brew/
Cancel
to start a bolder, small batch brew. Pressing
Brew/Cancel
again will cancel the brew cycle.
