CALIBRATION

 

PROCEDURE

 

The

 

GDS

‐

IR

 

infrared

 

sensor

 

is

 

highly

 

stable

 

and

 

should

 

not

 

require

 

calibration

 

more

 

than

 

once

 

every

 

six

 

months

 

under

 

normal

 

conditions.

 

However,

 

each

 

installation

 

is

 

unique

 

and

 

GDS

 

Corp

 

recommends

 

performing

 

a

 

calibration

 

upon

 

initial

 

startup

 

and

 

within

 

3

 

months.

  

Allow

 

at

 

least

 

30

 

minutes

 

from

 

initial

 

power

‐

up

 

for

 

the

 

sensor

 

to

 

stabilize

 

before

 

beginning

 

any

 

calibration

 

procedure!

  

Before

 

beginning

 

calibration,

 

make

 

sure

 

you

 

have

 

the

 

following

 

items:

1.

 

Connect

 

the

 

cylinder

 

of

 

zero

 

air

 

to

 

the

 

fixed

 

flow

 

regulator,

 

and

 

connect

 

the

 

tubing

 

to

 

the

 

calibration

 

port

 

on

 

the

 

bottom

 

of

 

the

 

GDS

‐

IR

 

sensor.

  

2.

 

Install

 

the

 

GDS

‐

IR

 

calibration

 

wrap

 

accessory

 

around

 

the

 

GDS

‐

IR

 

to

 

block

 

the

 

sensor’s

 

gas

 

access

 

holes.

  

3.

 

Turn

 

on

 

the

 

regulator

 

and

 

allow

 

gas

 

to

 

run

 

for

 

30

 

seconds.

  

4.

 

Local

 

sensor:

 

Use

 

the

 

magnetic

 

wand

 

to

 

trigger

 

the

 

IR

 

Zero

 

reed

 

switch

 

located

 

on

 

the

 

right

 

side

 

of

 

the

 

Sensor

 

Personality

 

Board.

  

Remote

 

sensor:

 

Use

 

the

 

magnetic

 

wand

 

to

 

trigger

 

the

 

IR

 

Zero

 

reed

 

switch

 

located

 

on

 

the

 

right

 

side

 

of

 

the

 

Sensor

 

Junction

 

Box

 

board

 

or

 

press

 

the

 

GDS

‐

IR

 

Zero

 

button

 

on

 

the

 

Sensor

 

Junction

 

Box

 

board.

 

Press

activate

 

the
