To prepare for 005-187 kit install, do the following steps.
1 - Open all wire channel covers to allow for easy wire removal, routing and rerouting
2 - Remove the fan motor plug from the fan motor driver board and label it "To Vacuum Fan"
3 - Remove the vacuum fan motor fuse plug from the fan motor driver board. follow the fuse
wire to the fan motor fuse holder and label the fan motor fuse holder "Vacuum Fan Fuse",
after which, remove and discard fan fuse connection wire
4 - Unplug all other vacuum fan driver board wires at both ends and discard them.
5 - Remove and discard the vacuum fan driver board.
6 - Remove the motor plug from the main motor PCB and label it “Main Motor”.
7 - Remove the main motor fuse plug from the motor drive PCB and label it “MM Fuse”
8 - Remove the 3 pin power connector from the motor PCB and label it “MM PCB Power”
9 - Remove the 4 pin signal connector from the motor PCB board and label it “MM PCB Signal”.
10 - Remove and discard the main motor drive PCB.
11 - Remove aluminum heat sink. Hacksaw a 3 1/2 inch portion off from the bottom and keep it.
12 - Main Motor PCB Mount studs 1 & 2 are indicated in green. Keep studs 1 & 2. Remove the
third main motor mount stud that is not indicated in green and all mount studs from the
vacuum fan PCB.
13 - Most 005-187 kit parts are mounted on an aluminum kit plate. Look at hole 1,2, and 3
indicated on the picture below. If hole 3 is not present, use a 3/16th inch drill bit and add it
at 9/16th inch above hole 2 .
14 - Mark all wires to the main control PCB and swap the old board with the new one in the kit.
