BEFORE USE
•
Clean the lid, bowl, basket and casing
using warm water and a little washing-up
liquid, and dry the parts carefully.
•
Fit the heating element and the control
panel in the bowl by inserting the pins on
the inside of the plastic unit down into the
grooves on the rear of the bowl.
Note! The heating element must be pushed
fully down to activate the safety switch. Other-
wise the appliance will not heat up.
USE
•
Only use oil recommended for deep frying.
Do not mix different types of oil, as they
may have different properties. Do not use
solid fats.
•
Check that the appliance is switched off,
and then pour the oil into the appliance
until the required level is reached. Fill the
oil to somewhere between the minimum
and maximum indicator on the bowl.
•
Place the lid on the bowl.
•
Plug the appliance in and press the
POWER button (A) to switch it on. The
display.
•
Adjust the temperature from 90-190 °C
by pressing the ^/v (E/F) buttons. If you
press both buttons at the same time, the
temperature unit changes between Celsius
and Fahrenheit.
•
Adjust the cooking time from 0-99 by
pressing the +/- (C/D) buttons.
•
Press the START/STOP (B) button to
preheat the oil. Once the oil has reached
the set temperature, “READY” will appear
on the display.
•
Remove the lid from the bowl.
•
Attach the handle (4) to the basket and tilt
it up so that it clicks into place. Place the
food in the basket and insert the basket
into the groove on the front of the bowl.
•
Place the lid on the appliance and care-
fully lower the basket into the bowl. Make
sure the oil level does not rise to the edge
of the bowl.
Note!
•
Be careful, as the oil may spit.
•
Take care when removing the lid, as hot
steam may be released.
PREPARING FOODS
Before lowering the basket
•
Make sure food is completely dry before
immersing it in the hot oil.
•
Ensure that the food is roughly the same
size so that it cooks evenly. Avoid very
thick pieces.
•
Make sure you remove as much ice as
possible from frozen food. However, it
does not need to be defrosted before
cooking.
•
Avoid overfilling the basket.
Important!
The handle may be very hot after
any prolonged period of use.
