Serial-to-LAN Connection Installation
10 – Serial-to-LAN Connection Installation
A serial-to-LAN converter ( Figure 10-1 ) can be used to replace a dial-up modem
( Figure 10-2 ). The converter accepts modem AT commands on the serial port, then establishes
a network connection to the end device, using network connections and bandwidth to replace
the dedicated modem and phone line.
