Main work
–
Wash the air filter thoroughly in special cleaning liquid and allow it
to dry properly.
Air filter cleaner ( p. 112)

Only press the air filter to dry it, never wring it out.

Oil the dry air filter with a high-grade air filter oil.
Oil for foam air filter ( p. 112)

Clean the air filter box.

Check the flap

on the underside of the air filter box for correct
function.
Info
This flap serves as a valve for draining liquids.
Finishing work
–
Install the air filter. ( p. 50)
–
Install the air filter box cover. ( p. 49)
11.24 Removing the main silencer
Warning
Danger of burns The exhaust system gets very hot when the vehicle is driven.

Allow the exhaust system to cool down before performing any work on the vehicle.
Preparatory work

Turn tap handle of the fuel tap to the OFF position.

Remove the fuel tank. ( p. 52)
