If you use the vehicle in winter, you must expect salt on the roads. You should therefore take precautions against
aggressive road salt.
If the vehicle was operated in road salt, clean it with cold water after riding. Warm water would enhance the corro-
sive effects of salt.

calipers and brake linings, after they have cooled down and
without removing them, with cold water and dry them care-
fully.
After riding on salted roads, thoroughly clean the vehicle
with cold water and dry it well.

Treat the engine, link fork, and all other bare or zinc-plated parts
(except the brake discs) with a wax-based corrosion inhibitor.

Corrosion inhibitor must not come in contact with the brake
discs as this would greatly reduce the braking force.
