1.
Before connecting the fiber optic cable, remove the protective dust cap from the tip
of the connector on the Magnum 14E.
2.
Wipe clean the ends of the connector with a soft cloth or lint-free lens tissue
dampened in alcohol. Make certain the connector is clean before connecting.
Note: The MT-RJ connector is keyed so that it will only plug in when both
TX and RX fiber elements are correctly positioned.
3.
Insert the male MT-RJ part into the female MT-RJ port. This connection is keyed so
that it only goes in one way, aligning the fiber pair for transmit and receive.
4.
The LINK LED corresponding to the fiber port, on the front of the product, will
illuminate when a proper connection has been established at both ends (and when power
is ON in the units at each end). If LINK is not lit after cable connection, the normal
cause is improper cable seating. Re-insert the fiber cables on the product connector to
possibly remedy this situation.
5.
Because of standard Link Pass-through feature, the LINK indication will not be present
unless LINK is made for the cables on both sides.
