1. Product description
Note! Keep the Tick Removers and the packing materials away from child-
ren. The Tick Removers are small and can easily be swallowed by children!
The Gardigo Tick Remover will remove ticks easily and safely. In the packing there are
two different sized hooks, allowing you to remove even small ticks and nymphs, wit-
hout the danger of squeezing or irritating them. A tick bite can transfer a great number
of diseases. The most common diseases are borreliosis, tick-borne encephalitis (TBE)
and with dogs babesiosis. The germs are mostly in the salivary glands or the intestines
of the tick and are inserted into the host’s body through its hypostome whilst sucking
blood. When removing a tick, it is essential that this is done swiftly, without irritating
the insect or squashing it. This will reduce the danger of fluids from the tick entering
your body.
Please observe the following points:
• Remove a tick as soon as it is discovered. If any parts should remain in the skin, it is
usually not the head but part of the jaws. Do not try to remove them, as this would
open the wound can cause an infection. The leftovers will be rejected by the skin
within a few days and do not pose a health hazard.
• Do not disinfect the Tick Remover before using it. Residue of the detergent can irri-
tate tick.
• Do not try to remove the tick with a flame, liquids or oils.

• Do not squeeze the body of the tick.
• Do not remove a tick with your fingers or fingernails. The tick will inevitably be squee-
zed and there is the danger that the wound becomes infected.
• After you have removed the tick, store it in a closed container. Show it to your doctor
as this will make a specification of the tick and the assessment of the danger of
infection easier.
2. Application
It is important that the Tick Remover is placed as close to the skin as possible. This
prevents that the tick is squeezed or irritated and that fluids and bacteria from the
tick are released:
• Choose, depending on the size of the tick, one of the two Tick Removers.
• Lay the end of the Tick Remover flat to the skin, approach the tick from the side and
try to wedge the head of the tick into the V-shaped tool.
• When fully inserted, turn the Tick Remover 1 – 2 times. By turning the tool, the bar-
bed hooks of the tick’s hypostome don‘t have so much grip and the tick is easily
removed.
• Disinfect of the wound and apply a plaster.
• Disinfect the Tick Remover and wash your hands thoroughly.
• Monitor the wound during the next days. If it becomes or stays red or begins to swell,
please consult your doctor.
