Engine does not start Fuel tank (25) is empty 

 

Oil tank is empty 

 

Self propel variable speed control (3)  

is not in correct starting position
Spark plug (27)
Blades hitting the grass to be cut
 

Battery (8) is flat

Check the fuel tank (25), and refuel if 

required.
Check the level of the oil dipstick (24),  

and if low or empty, add oil 

Move the Self propel variable speed control 

(3) to the correct “START” position
Clean or replace if dirty or worn
Increase the cutting height of the mower 

so the blades do not make contact with  

the grass on start up
Charge the battery (8).

Allow the grass to dry before mowing
Sharpen or replace the 4 x swing blades (30)
Stop mower and clear the rear discharge 

chute (16)

Mower cannot be 

pulled backward

Release the self propelled engage/ 

disengage bar  (2)
