RS232
I
NTERFACE
The
POWER+ SA
may be connected to a computer or a modem using a shielded
cable, with an RS232-type 9-pin female connector. The cable should not exceed15
meters. The RS232 plug is located on the rear panel of the
POWER+ SA
.
The connection allows the user to read data from the UPS, and to control it as well.
There are two types of UPS connections:
•
Directly to a host computer with dedicated software.
•
Remote control through a SNMP/WEB management programs for
communication with a computer network (optional).
In order to use the RS232 connection to a computer, monitoring software must be
installed on the user’s PC. The monitoring software can be ordered from
Gamatronic.
The PIN assignment for this 9-pin connector is shown in the diagram below.
The communication is half-duplex, 9600 baud-rate, no-parity, 1-stop bit, Rx, Tx and
COM lines, no-flow control (neither h/w nor s/w).
