PROBLEM
REMEDY
1. Condensing unit fails to start

5. Condensation on the
exterior surface
a. Check to make sure unit is plugged into a
working power source.
b. Check fuse, see if it is burned.
a. Shortage of refrigerant, need to add refrigerant.
b. Evaporator coil iced. Need to defrost. Open time clock door and turn dial
until defrost cycle is activated. Once defrost is complete, reset timer to actual time.
c. Check to see if there are any restrictions in refrigerator system.
d. Dirty condenser or filter. Clean properly.
e. Are doors closing properly?
a. Check door gasket for proper seal.
b. Control setting too high. Readjust.
c. Perhaps a large quantity of food has recently been added or the door was kept open
for a long time. In both cases, allow adequate time for the cabinet to recover its
normal operating temperature.
d. Check to see if air circulation is being obstructed.
a. Adjust the temperature control to a warmer setting.
a. Condensation on the exterior surface of the unit is perfectly normal during periods
of high humidity.
b. Check door alignment and gaskets for proper seal.
To avoid unnecessary cost and inconvenience,
make a few simple checks before calling for service:

For freezers, if there is no air movement in the unit, it may be in
the defrost cycle. Wait 35 minutes to see if the unit will restart.
