DMX-Mode
The device has four different DMX channel modes. The Control Board allows you, as described above, to
assign the DMX channel mode.
Addressing
Press the MODE-button until the display shows
Addr
. You can now set the desired address via the UP or
DOWN buttons. Press ENTER to confirm. The Control Board allows you to assign the DMX fixture address,
which is defined as the first channel from which the FUTURELIGHT WL-18 IP65 will respond to the
controller.
Please, be sure that you don’t have any overlapping channels in order to control each FUTURELIGHT WL-
18 IP65 correctly and independently from any other fixture on the DMX-chain.
If several WL-18 IP65 are addressed similarly, they will work synchronically.
Controlling:
After having addressed the WL-18 IP65, you may now start operating it via your lighting controller.
Note:
After switching on, the device will automatically detect whether DMX 512 data is received or not. If the data
is received, the display will show
"d001."
with the actually set address. If there is no data received at the
DMX-input, the display will show
"d001"
with the actually set address.
This situation can occur if:
- the 3 PIN XLR plug (cable with DMX signal from controller) is not connected with the input of the device.
- the controller is switched off or defective, if the cable or connector is defective or the signal wires are swap
in the input connector.
Note:
It’s necessary to insert the XLR termination plug (with 120 Ohm) in the last device in the link in order to
ensure proper transmission on the DMX data link.
