Mounting the receiver
Find a suitable location for the receiver and if necessary, fasten it using the mounting brackets. Make sure that the
pressure compensation element does not face up.
Notes
•
This device is dust-tight and protected against splash water from any angle, making it suitable for outdoor use. It
designed for temporary use, however, in the context of events and not for permanent outdoor use.
•
The seals and screw connections of the equipment must be checked regularly to ensure a fault-free operation. In
cases of doubt, consult a specialist workshop in due time.
MAKING THE DMX CONNECTIONS
W-DMX allows creating reliable point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and even multipoint-to-multipoint installations
over large distances and in any environment.
Point-to-point connection
Connect a compatible transmitter ( accessories) to the DMX output of your DMX controller and the WDR-G5
receiver to the DMX input of the first DMX-controlled device in the DMX chain. In this point-to-point configuration
the DMX signal from one transmitter is sent to one receiver.
Point-to-multipoint connection
Connect a compatible transmitter ( accessories) to the DMX output of your DMX controller and the WDR-G5
receiver to the DMX input of the first respective DMX-controlled device in the DMX chain. In this point-to-multipoint
configuration the DMX signal from one transmitter is sent to several receivers. The transmitter and all receivers
must be set to the same frequency range.
Notes
•
Always connect one DMX output to the DMX input of the next unit until all units are connected, to form a DMX
chain. Connect a 120
Ω
terminating plug to the DMX output of the last DMX unit in the chain
•
If the cable length exceeds 300 m or the number of DMX devices is greater than 32, it is recommended to insert
a DMX level amplifier to ensure proper data transmission.
•
Alternatively, provide each DMX-controlled unit with its individual receiver to avoid cabling between the DMX
units.
