5. Communication with PC

Waypoint and route data can be transferred from GP-90 to PC, and vice versa.
5.1 Connection
Connect DATA 4 port on GP - 90 to COM port on the PC.
RS-232C; TD: #5/#6, RD: #3/#4
RS-422; TD: #1/#2, RD: #3/#4
5.2 Setting
(1) On GP-90
Press MENU,9,5 in this order, and set the following items.
Signal Level; RS-232C or RS-422.
DATA; Select COM.
Baud rate; 4800, 9600, or 19200 bps
(2) On PC
DATA length; 8 bits
Parity bit; Non parity
Stop bit; 1 bit
Control; XON/XOFF control
5.3 DATA Transfer
(1) From GP - 90 to PC: Waypoint data, route data and end code are output from GP - 90 to the PC in
this order.
(2) From PC to GP - 90: Waypoint and route data sawed on the PC can be sent back to GP - 90 in
this order. The data on GP - 90 is overwrite.
(3) From PC to GP - 90: Waypoints (waypoint sentences) created on the PC can be transferred to GP
- 90. Waypoint numbers not in use are assigned to these waypoints. The waypoint identifier in
WPL sentence is stored as a comment .
