Guard Alarm
The guard alarm allows the operator to set the desired range and bearing for a
guard zone. When ships, islands, landmasses, etc. violate the guard zone an
aural alarm sounds and the offending target blinks to call the operator’s attention.
CAUTION
•
The alarm should not be relied upon as
the sole means for detecting possible
collision situations.
•
A/C SEA, A/C RAIN and GAIN controls
should be properly adjusted to be sure
the alarm system does not overlook
target echoes.

Selection of guard zone type
The guard alarm can sound against a target either entering or exiting the guard
zone.
1. Press the [MENU] key to display the main menu.
2. Select OTHER MENU and press the [ENTER] key.
3. Use the trackball to select “15. Guard Mode” followed by desired alarm type;
In or Out.
4. Press the [ENTER] key followed by the [MENU] key to conclude your
selection and close the menu.
Inward alarm
The alarm sounds on targets entering the guard zone. “IN” appears at the top
right corner when the Inward alarm is selected.
Outward alarm
The alarm sounds on targets exiting the guard zone. “OUT” appears at the top
right corner when the Outward alarm is selected.
