Installation
The Home Compenser ® is installed at a place within the home at which an undisturbed UMTS
signal is available. The cable losses occurring on the way to the terminal are compensated
reliably and at maximum quality.
Start-up at home
Take the device out of the packaging and check that the scope of supplies are complete.
Take the antenna *, the power supply unit , and the connection cable SMA-FME- from
the packaging and connect them to the Home Compenser
®
, refer to the illustration in the
section Connection Concept (Seite 23).
Place the Home Compenser
®
at a position within your home at which an undisturbed UMTS
network is available.
Lay the connection cable SMA-FME to the UMTS terminal and connect it using an adapter
cable** (Pigtail).
Connect the power supply unit to the power outlet and actuate the ON/OFF switch.
After switching the Home Compenser ® on, the green status LED illuminates.
The conduction losses occurring on the way to the terminal are compensated reliably and
at maximum quality.

Note on utilisation of an outdoor antenna
Mount the Home Compenser ® in the vicinity of the antenna, observe our safety
instructions!
The antenna input is identifi ed; the antenna must be connected using an SMA-MALE plug.
Refer to the illustration in the section Connection Concept [page 23].
We recommend keeping the connection cable between the antenna and the Home
Compenser
® as short as possible. A too long cable would weaken the incoming antenna
signal.
Lay the connection cable SMA-FME to the UMTS terminal and connect it using an adapter
cable** [Pigtail].
Connect the power supply unit to the power outlet and actuate the ON/OFF switch.
After switching the Home Compenser
®
on, the green status LED illuminates.
