Error when sending or receiving an SMS

Failed SMS

SMS messages can not be sent or received if the SMS Center number is not available, or an incor-
rect number has been saved. The SMS Center number is given in your Calls log; be sure to delete
this number.
Check to ensure that the SMS Center number has been saved correctly (see page 36)

You can contact your service provider SMS service center to inquire about any error codes that may
be displayed (Deutsche Telekom: 0800 3304747).

SMS messages containing special content, such as pictures, sound files, etc. are not supported.

Incoming SMS failed

If you receive an SMS at your DECT80 that is spoken, this message was sent to you from an exter-
nal service provider that was not able to forward the message as an SMS.
If you can not receive any SMS messages, the feature Caller ID (CLIP) may not be enabled for your
phone connection.
A notice is shown in the display when you can not save any more SMS messages in your DECT80.

Possible cause: Caller ID (CLIP) feature not enabled.
Fault Remedy: Have this feature enabled by your network service provider

Possible cause: No SMS Center number stored at the terminal device.
Fault Remedy: Enter the telephone number.

Possible cause: Transmission of SMS interrupted (for example, by a call)
Fault Remedy: Send the SMS message again from Outgoing.
