Diagnostic menu - Exit the OBD2 test:
1.
Use the Scroll button (7) to select Previous Menu from the Diagnostic Manu and
press Enter/Exit button (5) to confirm.
2.
An advisory warning message asking your confirmation, press Enter/Exit button
(5) to confirm your exit.
Ready test menu
This function allows repairs to the emissions-control systems of a 1996 or newer
vehicle cause the vehicle's computer (ECU) memory to be cleared must go through
a drive cycle to allow the ECU to perform a series of tests to ensure that the repair
was successful, and before a state mandated emissions test can be conducted.
Modern vehicles lack equipment to indicate whether the tests have been
completed. With the auto scan tool, you don't have to bring the vehicle back to
the repair shop for retest if all required tests by the ECU are completed.
In the Ready Test Mode (fig. 33), you could
easily check the I/M Readiness status to
determine whether an OBD2 vehicle is ready
for an emission test.
To enter this mode, simply press the Quick-Set
Function Button (8) at anytime. If the quick-set
function set (8) is set to I/M readiness. Or,
while the scan tool in Ready Test Mode, select
Diagnostics OBD/EOBD interface in the Home
Screen. If the scan tool is idle, it will show
the result immediately. If it is busy, it will wait
till the current procedure finished. After viewing the status, press I/M Readiness
Quick-Set Function Button (8) or Exit/Enter button (5) to exit, which takes a few
seconds and please be patient.
You will get the information screen as shown
(fig. 34).
