Adding a second hot-plug power supply unit

A second hot-plug power supply unit can be added to ensure a redundant power 
supply. If one power supply unit fails, the second power supply unit ensures that 
operation continues unimpaired.

The slot for the second hot-plug power supply unit contains a dummy module, 
which must be removed before installing the second power supply unit.

Push the green catch in the direction of the arrow (1) , push the dummy 
module upwards (2) and unhook it at the bottom.

CAUTION!

Store the dummy module in a safe place. If the power supply unit is 
removed  and not replaced with a new unit, then the dummy module 
must be reinstalled due to cooling, the applicable EMC regulations 
(regulations on electromagnetic compatibility) and fire protection.

Insert the second power supply unit into the free slot (see section 

"Replacing 

the hot-plug power supply unit" on page 90

) and connect it to the mains (see 

section 

"Connecting the server to the mains" on page 56

).
