The actions described in this manual should only be performed by 
technical specialists.

Equipment repairs should only be performed by service staff.

Any failure to observe the guidelines in this manual, and any unautho-
rized opening or improper repairs could expose the user to risks 
(electric shock, energy hazards, fire hazards) or damage the 
equipment. 

●

Please note that any unauthorized opening of the server will void the 
warranty and exempt the manufacturer from all liability.

First of all please familiarize yourself with the safety instructions in the 

chapter “Safety instructions” on page 15

.

Ê

Make sure that all the manuals you need are available and print out the PDF 
files if necessary. You will definitely need the operating manuals of the server 
blade and of your BX600 S2 or BX600 S3 basic unit.

Ê

Shut down the server blade correctly, switch it off and remove it from the 
basic unit as described in the 

Completion

.

Ê

Extend or upgrade your server blade as described in the relevant chapter.

I

The installation and removal of the hot-plug components is described 
in the Operating Manual supplied with the server blade.

Ê

Close the server blade, place it back in the basic unit and switch on the 
server blade as described in 

chapter “Completion” on page 57

.

Ê

Start the operating system and, if necessary, configure it as required (see 
the Operating Manual).
