7.1 Switches
One switch is used in the basic configuration of the SE server SE300. By default the SE servers SE700 and SE500
have two redundant switches.
Brocade ICX 6450 models are employed.
ICX 6450-24 with
24 copper ports (10/100/1000 Mbps)
4 optical ports (SFP+; 1 oder 10 Gbps uplink ports, stacking-capable)
ICX 6450-48 with
48 copper ports (10/100/1000 Mbps)
4 optical ports (SFP+; 1 oder 10 Gbps uplink ports, stacking-capable)
Brocade switches ICX 7450-48 are used from the HW generation SE310 and SE710 onwards. These are designed
redundantly as usual with SE /390, with SE x86 there is a redundancy extension (2nd switch) in addition to one
switch in the basic configuration. A port extension of a redundantly designed Net Unit is no longer planned.
Currently maximum transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps are supported.
