General remarks
(1)
Interval welding time t1 or spot-
welding time adjuster
has a different function depending
on the mode being used
-
Interval 2-step, interval 4-step
mode ... for adjusting the
interval welding time t1 (recom-
mended working range: 0.1 -
1.5 sec.)
-
Spot-welding ... for adjusting
the spot-welding time or arc
burning time for MIG/MAG spot
welding (setting range: 0.1 -
5.0 sec.)
(2)
Stage switch
divides the open-circuit and welding
voltage range or the welding power
range of the power surce into max.
15 stages
-
VST 1500 stage 1 to 6
-
VST 2500 stage 1 to 10
-
VST 3100 stage 1 to 15
(3)
Error indicator
-
lights up if the power source is overheating
-
flashes if there is an error
(4)
Mains switch
for switching the power source on and off. Lights up when switched on.
(5)
Welding current sockets 1/2/3
for connecting the grounding (earthing) cable. By connecting to various sockets
the current rise at the moment of droplet transfer can be controlled, thereby
producing an optimum welding result. The connection options can be seen in the
tables on the inside of the left side panel
(6)
Torch control socket
for connecting the torch control plug.
NOTE!
There may be functions described in these instructions that are not
available on the power source. In addition, controls on the power source may
differ slightly from those illustrated. However, the controls function in exactly
the same way.
WARNING!
Operating the equipment incorrectly can cause serious injury and
