Click the “OK” button.
Assigning IP Addresses to Participating Devices
Windows XP does not provide a DHCP server that can assign
dynamic IP addresses to the participants of the ad-hoc net-
work. This means you have to assign fixed IP addresses to the
participating devices.
1.
Open the properties of the network connection “Wire-
less Network Connection / FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick” (see
steps 1—3 in “Setting Up a New Ad Hoc Network”).

Select the “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” in the list of ele-
ments to be used.
3.
Click the “Properties” button.
4.
Enable the “Use the following IP address:” option.
