Installation Instructions
Temperature Sensor Kit
For Use with Kühl, Kühl+ units
Please read these instructions completely before attempting installation.
NOTE: These instructions apply to the Friedrich Kühl and Kühl+ units.

Tools Required: ¼” nut driver, wire cutter snips
Note: Disconnect unit supply cord from the power supply prior servicing the control circuits.
Step 1. Remove existing sensors making note of each sensors location, routing, clip orientation,
any wire ties used for strain relief, its connector color and its connection point on the
electronic control.
Step 2. Two sizes of sensor mounting clips are provided for remounting the coil sensors. The clips
with a “3” stamped on its side are for 3/8” OD tube coils and the unmarked clip is for 0.312
OD tubed coils. Install the new sensor/clips in the same orientation and position as the
original factory setting.
Step 3. Cut the supplied piece of cork insulating tape into 2 equal size pieces (2” x 2”). Place one
piece over each mounted coil sensor. The purpose of the tape is to insulate the sensor
from outside influences and to secure the sensor/clip to the coil return bend.
Step 4. Route the sensor leads’ to the units’ control box and secure the leads with wireties for
strain relief. Cut excess wire tie with wire snips.
