FAULTS AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Fault Cause Rectification
The pump is noisy. The pump has too little or no oil. Clean the suction filter and repair the suction pipe.
Top up the oil. Incorrect rotation direction.
Pump is sucking air in. Clean the suction filter and repair the suction pipe.
Repair. Replace the gasket ring on the pump
shaft. Air is seeping into the suction pipe through
the return pipe.
The pump is worn. Repair or replace the pump.
RPM too high. Correct the RPM.
The pressure is too high. Reduce the pressure.
There is no pressure.
The oil level is too low. Top up the oil.
The pump does not run. Check the motor, coupling and shaft.
The safety
valve is jammed.
Unscrew the valve and clean or
replace.
The pump is defective. Replace or repair the pump.
Leak in valve/cylinder. Repair valve or cylinder.
Insufficient pressure.
Setting too low. Increase the pressure.
Leak in the safety valve. Repair or replace.
Leak in valve or cylinder. Repair valve or cylinder.
The oil is foaming.
Leaking suction pipe. Repair the pipe.
Incorrect oil or water in the oil. Check or replace the oil.
