4. USER‘S INSTRUCTIONS
After connecting all the cables into the transmitter and the receiver, the two units can be powered. The ON LED light (1. ON
LED LIGHT) of the optical transmitter (OPT-TX54) becomes green when the unit is powered correctly.
The OPT-TX54 Alarm LED becomes red when the laser power has become too low or when the optical output is missing.
We recommend having the unit inspected by Fracarro Radioindustrie S.p.a.
The ALARM LED of the OPT -RX54 receiver becomes red when the input optical power is low. We recommend checking the
input optical level.
Figure 1 shows an installation both of the transmitter and optical receiver. The insertion order of the satellite polarizations
between the transmitter (OPT-TX54) and the receiver (OPT -RX54) are respected and shown on the device labels, see Fig.1.
The OPT-RX54 optical receiver must be powered by one of the four F output connectors of the satellite polarizations. When
it is necessary to re-amplify the output signal of the OPT- RX54, we recommend using an amplifier that allows for remote
powering. See Figure 1. If possible, power the OPT-RX54 receiver remotely with a (SPS1750) voltage connector on one of the
four satellite lines (the maximum absorption of the OPT- RX54 receiver is 240mA @ 14V).
