Each number is one f-stop (1 EV) apart from the next number. The brightness can be adjusted more
precisely when using the f-stops between numbers. (However, the Sony (Minolta) mount can only be
adjusted in steps of full f-stops.)
Example 1.4 and 2 are 1 f-stop (1 EV) apart from each other.
Adjust the brightness to between 2.0 and 1.4, half an f-stop (0.5 EV) between the two.
5. Mounting of the lens hood
The lens hood is equipped with a bayonet system,
which guarantees a quick, efficient and secure
attaching and allows photography without
unwanted light reflections and image artifacts.
Set the lens hood onto the lens and turn the lens
hood until you hear a clicking sound.
6. About photography
The aperture of the 35mm F1.4 ED AS IF UMC lens supports a maximum aperture opening of F1.4.
When you are taking a picture outside in the sunlight, you may not receive a focused image because
the subject is too bright. In this case, adjust the brightness to an appropriate level and then take the
picture.
As the field of depth at F1.4 is very low, you may not receive a focused picture if the focus has not
been set correctly. In order to receive a focused picture, focus the subject correctly and then take the
picture.
