STEP 4

Chisel The Door Jamb & Install Striker Plate

Place the striker plate 1/4” from the door stop, lining it up between the top and bottom lines

previously drawn.

Mark around the edge of the striker plate and inside the screw holes.

Now you have installed the latch plate, partially close the door until the latch is just

inside the door jamb.

Using your pencil, gently mark a line to show the top and bottom of the latch plate

– this will indicate the position of the striker plate.
