FortiFone User Guide

Text Messages

You can send and receive text messages using the FON-C70 IP phone with devices that 
support the feature. New text messages can be indicated both acoustically and visually. When 
receiving a new text message, the phone will play a warning tone. The power indicator LED will 
slowly flash red, and the LCD screen will prompt 

n New Text Message(s)

 indicates the number 

of unread text messages, e.g., 1 New Text Message(s)) and display 

.

You can store text messages in your phone’s Inbox, Sentbox, Outbox or Draftbox. Each of the 
boxes can store up to 100 text messages. If the number of the text messages in one box is 
more than 100, the phone will directly delete the oldest text message in the box.

To read a text message:

1.

Press 

Menu

Select the desired message and press the 

View

 softkey.

3.

Press the 

Send

 softkey after completing the content.

4.

Enter the number you want to send the message to in the

 field.

Press the

 softkey to cancel.

To delete a text message:

1.

Select the desired message, then press the 

Delete

Delete

 to delete the desired message, then press the

Cancel 

softkey to cancel. You can also 

delete all text messages by pressing the 

Delete 

softkey then selecting 

Delete All
