Power Connection 1
If you are using Power over Ethernet (PoE) , ensure that
the cable is connected to an appropriate port on your
FortiGate device or PoE injector .
Optionally, connect your device to a power outlet using
the optional power adapter.
Caution: Adequate grounding must be
provided to the FortiAP unit & the PoE injector,
in compliance with your
local electrical code or
regulations .
Warning: This device supports 802.3af or 802.3at
(PoE) specification; it accepts power as a Powered
Device (PD) from a Power Sourcing Equipment
(PSE) such as a
PoE injector . Do not use any PoE
injectors that are not 802.3af or 802.3at compliant
as they may damage your device.

QuickStart Guide

1. Connect to the Internet by connecting a
FortiAP Ethernet port (WAN port on models
with WAN) to a router.
2. Visit http://www.forticloud.com to sign in or
create a new account .
3. Click “ Add Device ”. Enter the unique FortiCloud
key located on your FortiAP device, then select
“ Submit ”.
4. Deploy the FortiAP to an existing AP network or
create one, then select “ Submit ”.
5. Associate the FortiAP device to an SSID.
