Placing the Trash Pump (See FIG 6)
To maximize the pump’s power, the pump should be placed as close to the water level as possible and the hose should be
as short as possible.
• As hose length increases, pump output decreases.
• The Total Head is the total pumping height. As Total Head increases the pump’s output decreases.
• The Discharge Head capacity is greater than the Suction Head capacity. Therefore, the Suction Head should always be
shorter than the Discharge Head.
