IMPORTANT:
Read these instructions carefully and familiarise yourself with the unit before
screwing the gas cartridge on the unit. Reread these instructions from time to time to remind
yourself about the operation of the unit. Keep the instructions in a safe place for future
reference.
1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (fig. 1)
1.1 Ensure that the seal of the unit is in perfect condition before screwing on the gas cartridge.
1.2 Never use the unit without a seal or with a damaged seal. Never use a unit with a gas leak.
1.3 Only change the gas cartridge outside in an area that is free of ignition sources, unshielded
flames, electrical cables and far away from other persons.
1.4 Always check for gas leaks in the unit outside.
Do not check for leaks using an unshielded flame. Use soapy water instead.
1.5 If the unit has a leak, take particular care and ensure that there is adequate ventilation in the
room. Note that gas is heavier than air and can quickly accumulate in drains and cellar rooms.
1.6 Never allow the unit to burn unattended.
1.7 The unit consumes oxygen when operated and so must only be used in rooms with
sufficient ventilation and an air change of at least 5m³/h.
1.8 Use the unit at a safe distance from walls and inflammable materials.
2. HANDLING THE UNIT
2.1 The burner of the unit becomes hot during use. Take care not to touch these hot
components during and after use.
2.2
Storage:
Unscrew the gas cartridge from the unit when it is not in use.
Store the gas cartridge in a safe, dry location that is far away from ignition sources and
children. Never store the gas cartridges in cellar rooms below ground level.
2.3 Never use the unit for an application that it was not designed for.
2.4 Handle the unit carefully. Do not drop it.
3. ASSEMBLING THE UNIT
3.1 Ensure that the valve (2) is turned off.
3.2 Hold the cartridge (3) in an upright position when screwing on the unit.
3.3 Place the unit valve on the screw thread of the gas cartridge.
3.4 Carefully screw the unit valve on the gas cartridge.
Ensure that the thread is not in a crooked position.
Tighten the screw thread connection by
hand. The screw thread of the unit or the bottle valve may be damaged if you tighten it too
much.
3.5 Installing the burner. The burner has a bayonet connection. Place the burner in the Powerjet
and turn it 90 degrees until it locks. CAUTION: The burner is hot after use.
3.6 If you want to check for gas leaks in the unit, do it outside. Do not use unshielded flames to
check for leaks. Use soapy water. Bubbles in the water indicate a leak.
Never start the unit if you hear a gas leak.
Unscrew the gas cartridge and inform your dealer.
4. USING THE UNIT
4.1 Keep the burner away from your body and other inflammable objects.
4.2 Turn the regulating knob in a counter-clockwise direction (2) and press the start button (6)
