Before commissioning this tool it is imperatively necessary to read, understand and observe these operating
instructions.
General safety instructions and personal safety
ATTENTION
• Before commissioning this device please completely and thoroughly read, observe and follow these
operating instructions including the safety instructions. Then keep these operating instructions at a suitable
place – accessible for each user of the device.
• The device must only be commissioned, installed, used, cleaned and maintained by competent persons
having understood and observing these instructions. The user must be physically able to operate this device.
• In case of improper use as well as when modifying or combining the device with improper outside supplied
parts, severe health damages of your own person, of third persons and of animals might result.
• The applicable safety instructions, occupational health regulations and health and safety regulations of the
corresponding country or of the corresponding area of use must be observed and followed, e.g. the
German accident prevention regulations.
• Make sure that the device is outside of the reach of children or of persons who are not familiar with the
operation. If the tool is switched on by persons who are not familiar with the safety and operating
instructions this might be potentially dangerous.
Dangers at the working place:
• Slipping, stumbling and falling are the main reasons for severe or even lethal accidents, observe if there
are any hose lines in your way or in the environment of the working place.
• Make sure to have a safe posture and a firm stand.
• Repeated motion sequences, unfavourable posture and continuous vibrations may have harmful effects on
hands and arms.
• A high noise level may result in permanent hearing loss. Use the prescribed hearing protection.
• Avoid inhaling dust and contact with rubbed-off parts resp. material residues which are caused during the
working process – they may be harmful for your health.
• The operating and maintenance staff must be physically able to handle the size, weight and force effects of
the device.
• This device is not designed to be used in explosive endangered rooms and must not get in contact with live
parts.
• Please consider that each material is subject to wear and therefore signs of fatigue may occur on the tool.
• Well hold the tool and make sure that you are standing firmly in order to be able to resist the forces which
possibly emerge from the tool.
Risks due to chips flying off at high speed:
• Also small chips which might for instance swirl up due to exhaust air might result in eye injuries and
possible blindness. When working with a compressed air device it is necessary to wear a suitable eye and
face protection (protective goggles, mask) for repair or maintenance works as well as when replacing
add-ons on the device.
• This is also applicable for all other persons who are present in the danger area.
• Do not have the machine run in neutral. It might possibly run too fast which would cause that add-ons
which are possibly mounted on the device might fly off at high speed.
• Only use add-ons which are suitably fitting on the tool.
• In case of malfunctions immediately switch off the device and have it inspected by an authorized shop.
• In case of strong vibrations switch off the tool and have it inspected by an authorized specialist workshop.
Do not operate the device any longer without taking appropriate corrective measures.
Personal safety
• Only use the device when you are wake up and rested.
• Always make sure what you do and use your common sense when operating the tool.
• Do not use the device, if you are tired or work under the influence of medicine, alcohol or medication. Any
slight inattention may result in severe and serious injuries.
• Wear suitable personal protective equipment and safety goggles. By wearing personal safety equipment
such as e.g. dust masks, anti-skid safety shoes, a helmet and hearing protection the risk of accidents and
injury is drastically reduced.
• Avoid starting the tool by mistake or by accident. Make sure that the device is disconnected from the
compressed air supply after use and in order to transport it.
• Before connecting and using the device, check if all connections (in particular screws and nuts) of the
device and hoses are firmly seated in particular with regard to damages of the compressed air lines and
connection pieces.
