Applying the Pressure Cuff
STEP 1
Connect the air plug of the tubing to the
air jack at the side of the monitor.
STEP 2
Assemble the cuff as the left figure. The
smooth surface is on the inside of the cuff loop and
the metal D-ring should not touch your skin.
STEP 3
Extend your left arm in front of you with
your palm facing up. Slide the cuff onto your left
arm, above your elbow. The red line on the edge of
the cuff should be approximately
0.8 inch to 1.2
inch (2 cm to 3 cm)
above your elbow. Align the
tubing over the main arteries at the inside of your
arm.
STEP 4
When the cuff is positioned correctly, pull the end of the cuff to tighten
the cuff snugly around your upper arm. You should be able to fit your index
finger between the cuff and your arm.
STEP 5
Press the hook material firmly against the pile material. The top and
bottom edges of the cuff should be tightened evenly around your upper arm.
