8. Troubleshooting
If any of the following problems occur while operating the USF-1013MUX, follow the troubleshooting
procedures below to see if the problem can be corrected before assuming a unit malfunction has
occurred.
IMPORTANT
If a problem is not corrected by performing the procedure described below, turn the unit off and then
on again. If this still does not correct the problem, contact your dealer.

Check
Action
No video displayed.
<SDI signal connection
>
Is an SDI signal present?
Check if [SDI Status] is indicated as
Normal. (See Sec. 5-5-4.)
Verify the physical SDI connection.
<SDI signal format>
Is the SDI input format supported?
Check if [Video Format] is indicated
as Loss. (See Sec. 5-5-4.)
Input a supported SDI signal.
(See Sec. 5-4-1.)
<SDI signal format>
Does the [Sync Format] setting (see
Sec. 5-4-1) match SDI input format?
Set [Sync Format] to Auto or set
[Sync Format] to the SDI input
format. (See Sec. 5-4-1.)
Downstream devices
do not operate
properly when SDI is
not input.
Is [Sync Format] set to a system
format currently applied?
If set to
Auto
, video may be
distorted when SDI is not input.
Set [Sync Format] to the SDI input
format. (See Sec.5-4-1.)
When SDI is not input,
SDI output does not
synchronize with the
system.
Normal operation, input SDI signals.
USF-1013MUX outputs SDI signals
according to SDI input. When SDI
input is not present, SDI output does
not synchronize with the system.
Video images are
distorted on
downstream devices
when SDI input is not
present in 4K mode.
Normal operation, input SDI signals.
When SDI input is not present, SDI
output does not synchronize with the
system. Payload ID is not passed
through either.
Cannot map audio
channels.
Is [Output - Audio Mode] set to
Through? (See Sec. 5-3-1.)
Set to Mapping.
Abnormal or noisy
sound output. (SDI)
Are asynchronous or non-PCM
audio
Forcibly assigned per channel?
(See Sec. 4-2.)
Assign audio per group if an
asynchronous or non-PCM audio
channel is included in a group.
Cannot output
(embed) the AES7/8
audio input.
Is [AES 7/8 Port] of system menu
set to LTC Input?
Set to AES side.
Cannot output
(embed) LTC signal
which is input from
AES7/8.
Is [AES 7/8 Port] of system menu
set to
「
AES7/8 Input
」
?
Set to LTC side.
Unable to output
(embed) AES signal
which is input from
AES3/4 or AES7/8.
Is no signal input into AES1/2 nor
AES5/6?
The audio clock is gained from
AES1/2 or AES5/6 input so input
AES audio signal.
Unable to embed
audio. (Audio packets
are not embedded.)
Is audio present on the first channel
(ch1, 5, 9 or 13) of the group? See
Sec. 4-2 for details.
Input audio to the first channel.
