OBSERVED PROBLEM
Fireplace produces a whis-
tling noise when burner is lit

REMEDY
1. Turn gas control knob to
LO position and let warm
up for a minute
2. Operate burner until air is
removed from line. Have
gas line checked by local
propane/LP or natural gas
company
3. Clean burner (see

ing and Maintenance

page 26) or replace burner
orifice
1. Inspect the opening at
the base of the burner by
removing log/grate as-
sembly to see that it is
NOT packed with any type
of material for log/grate
removal
2. Check vent configuration
specifications (see

, page 10)
1. This is normal. If noise is
excessive, contact quali-
fied service person
1. Replace 12-volt batteries
in receiver and hand-held
remote control
1. Clean out air holes at
burner inlets. Periodically
