Safety Instructions Hazardous areas

When using air-operated diaphragm pumps Type RFML 10,
RFML 15 and RFML 25 in hazardous areas or when transferring
flammable liquids, please observe the following instructions:
z
Connect an earth continuity conductor (earth wire) to the
designated screw on the pump housing.
z
All pipelines (flexible hoses, hose fittings ...)
and other additional equipment must be certified for use in
hazardous areas. Grounding of such equipment has to be
made separately.
z
Designation of pump according to Directive 94/9/CE
ATEX 100a is: II 2 G cp IIB X
z
Temperature of liquid being transferred may not exceed 60°C.
z
Stroke counter and/or diaphragm rupture security system must
be instrinsically safe.
z
In case of diaphragm rupture liquid may escape via the exhaust
air and/or silencer and may lead to explosion risk.
z
Avoid dry running of the pump.
z
Comply with all relevant safety instructions
(explosion proofness document).
z
Comply with regulations regarding operating safety.
