Replacing the Battery
Replace the Meter’s 9-volt battery with only approved batteries found in Table 2.

Warning
To avoid false readings, which could lead to possible electric
shock or personal injury, replace the battery as soon as the
battery indicator (
b
) appears. If the display shows
“
bAtt
”
the
Meter will not function until the battery is replaced.
Replace the battery as follows, refer to Figure 1:
1. Turn the rotary knob to
OFF
and remove the test leads from the terminals.
2. Remove the battery door by using a standard-blade screwdriver to turn the battery
door screws one-quarter turn counterclockwise.
3. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one.
4. Align the battery leads so that they not pinched between the battery door and the case
bottom.
5. Secure the door by turning the screws one-quarter turn clockwise.

Testing Fuses and Current Circuitry
If a test lead is plugged into the

terminal and the rotary knob is turned to a
non-current function, the Meter chirps and flashes “
LEAd
” if the fuse associated with that
current terminal is good. If the Meter does not chirp or flash “
LEAd
”, the fuse is bad and
must be replaced. Refer to Table 9 for the appropriate replacement fuse.
