Congratulations for your purchase and thank you for choosing our unit. Carefully read these
instructions and keep them in a safe place for future reference.
Use the unit only as described in this instruction manual.
For specific information on your own blood pressure, contact your physician.
This Blood Pressure Monitor bears the CE mark “CE 0051” and is manufactured in compliance with
the essential requirements of Directive 93/42/EEC concerning medical devices, as well as the EMC
directive 89/336/EEC:
EN 1060-1: 1995/A1: 2002 Non-invasive sphygmomanometers - Part 1: General requirements
EN 1060-3: 1997/A1: 2005 Non-invasive sphygmomanometers - Part 2: Supplementary
requirements for electromechanical blood pressure measuring systems
EN 1060-4: 2004
Non-invasive sphygmomanometers - Part 4: Test Procedures to
determine the overall system accuracy of automated non-invasive
sphygmomanometers.
Blood pressure measurements determined with this automatic blood pressure monitor are equivalent
to those obtained by a trained observer using cuff/stethoscope auscultation method, within the limits
prescribed by the American National Standard, Electronic or Automated Sphygmomanometers. This
monitor is to be used by adult consumers in a home environment.

1. Digital Korotkoff Sound (DK) Technology
The "Digital Korotkoff Sound" (DK) technology is a combination between the comfortable
oscillometric method and the competence of the clinically tested Korotkoff Sound method. A peculiar
feature of this appliance is its advanced system fitted with a pair of sensors for pressure and sound,
whose detections are then processed by a sophisticated algorithm which determines the result of the
measurement and clearly shows it on the large display of the appliance.
2. About Blood Pressure
What is Blood Pressure?
Blood pressure is the pressure exerted on the artery tube while blood flows through the arteries. The
pressure measured when the heart contracts and sends blood out of the heart is systolic (highest)
blood pressure. The pressure measured when the heart dilates with blood flowing back into the heart
is called diastolic (lowest) blood pressure.
Why Measure Your Blood Pressure?
Among the various health problems afflicting people, problems associated with high blood pressure
are by far the most common. High blood pressure's dangerously strong correlation with
cardiovascular diseases and high morbidity has made measuring blood pressures a necessity of
identifying those at risk.
