Battery Tips

• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, stan-

dard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).

• Remove the batteries during long periods of non-use.

Always remove exhausted batteries from the toy. Battery
leakage and corrosion can damage this toy. Dispose of
batteries safely.

• Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. The batteries may

explode or leak.

• Never short circuit the battery terminals.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recom-

mended in the “Battery Installation” instructions are to
be used.

• If removable rechargeable batteries are used, they are

only to be charged under adult supervision.

• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy

before they are charged.

• If you use a battery charger, it should be examined reg-

ularly for damage to the cord, plug, enclosure and other
parts. Do not use a damaged battery charger until it has
been properly repaired.

• Locate the battery compartment on the back of the

remote control.

• Loosen the screws in the battery compartment door

with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the battery
compartment door.

• Insert three "AAA" (LR03) alkaline batteries, as indicated

inside the battery compartment.

• Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the

screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Do not over-tighten.

Hints:

• The "AAA" (LR03) batteries in the remote control have a

longer life than the "C" (LR14) batteries in URV's feet.
You may need to change the "C" batteries more often
than the "AAA" batteries.

• The "C" batteries in URV's feet only power his movement

(walking and motorized arm). When movement begins to
slow or stop, but speech and sound effects work normally,
replace the "C" batteries in URV's feet.

• The "AAA" batteries in the remote control power URV's

speech, spotlight and sound effects. If URV does not
function at all (no movement, speech or sound effects) ,
replace the "AAA" batteries in the remote control.
