Note:

The

DEFEAT ALERT TONE

feature relates to an event, which may occur in your

specific area, but might not be relevant to where you live.

Example:

SMW= Special Marine

Warning. If you live in an area near a large body of water, and you are far enough away that

those conditions will not affect your area, you can choose to DISABLE that alert. When

disabled, the SFA1135 will ignore Special Marine Warnings that are broadcast by NOAA.

See the

“SELECTABLE ALERT REFERENCE CHART”

section in this manual for a list of

the pre-defined events loaded in this radio. The list is in alphabetical order to determine

which events can be disabled.

Events marked with an asterisk “ * ” on the

“SELECTABLE ALERT REFERENCE CHART” cannot be disabled.

NOAA WEEKLY ALERT TESTS

The default setting for the weekly NOAA alert test signal is “DISABLED”. If you wish to

receive the weekly test alert signal from NOAA, you need to manually “ENABLE” the

“Required Weekly Test” (RWT) setting under the “DEFEAT SIREN” menu. See the

DEFEATING AN ALERT TONE”

section in this manual for more information on how to

ENABLE the setting. See the “

SELECTABLE ALERT REFERENCE CHART

” section in

this manual for more information on other settings available.

TESTING THE ALERT TONE SIREN

1. Press the

MENU

button, and “

” is shown on the display.

until

“ALERT

displayed.

.
