You can use the fire manikin with the Fire Sales Low-Smoke Fire Paste (029-030-003) or the FireWare
Low-Smoke Fire Gel (029-030-002). Other fuels will become too hot, which could result in possible
damage to the manikin.
1. Put the vest (2) on the fire manikin (1) and check to make sure this isn’t inside out. The inside is
darker and the seam is clearly visible.
2. Position the fire manikin in the manikin stand (3), or position it on a stable, non-flammable
surface.
Please note : the fire manikin should not be dragged!
3. Take approximately one heaped tablespoon of fire paste or gel (4) and thoroughly coat the fire
manikin’s vest. You can generally ignite the manikin anywhere on its body, apart from the reinforced
parts (5: hands, feet, armpits and crotch). In order to extend the manikin’s lifespan as much as
possible, it’s best to ignite the vest, as this can tolerate more heat, plus it’s replaceable.
