Safety tips
• This appliance should not be used in high rise flats, bathrooms,
basements or bedrooms.
• Do not move the appliance when operating. Sudden impacts and
bumps may damage the safety device.
• Do not direct the heater towards equipment, furniture, curtains or
anything else that may catch fire.
• Do not use the heater while sleeping.
• Always face the heater towards the centre of the room.
• ONLY use in well ventilated spaces. Ventillation is required for safety
and performance. Allow plenty of fresh air in, never seal up the
doorways or windows.
• Prevent young children and elderly people from touching very hot
surfaces. The guard only protects against clothing accidentally
touching the heater.
• Do not place clothes or other materials on the heater.
• Keep all flammable materials at least 1 metre away from the heater.
• Turn off the gas supply after use.
• Never use or store solvents or aerosols near the gas heater, even
when turned off.
• Never dispose of rubbish such as cigarette butts in the gas fire. This
can affect combustion and produce dangerous pollutants.
• Always operate the gas control and cylinder valve whilst standing to
the side or rear of the heater, never the front. This reduces risk of burns.
• Do not use the heater with a programmer, timer or any other device
that switches the heater on automatically.
How to change a gas cylinder
• The cylinder should be changed in accordance to the instructions
provided.
• Turn off the regulator and allow the heater to cool fully before
removing and replacing the cylinder.
• Do not attempt to replace the cylinder while the heater is still in use.
• Cylinders must be replaced in a flame free environment.
• Do not smoke while changing the cylinder
• When replacing the empty cylinder, make sure the gas is turned off
before disconnecting the valve.
