Work environment
Keep the working area tidy and well illuminated. Untidiness and dark locations in the workplace are usually
sources of accidents. Tidy up the tools you don’t need.
Do not use the power tools in environments where there is an explosion hazard, i.e. where there are
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Sparks are created on the commutator inside the power tools, which may
cause the ignition of flammable powder or vapour.
While using power tools, please prevent access of unauthorized staff and mainly small children to the
working area! If you are distracted, you may lose control over the work being performed. Never leave the
power tools unattended. Prevent the access of animals.
Electrical safety
Prevent your body from coming into contact with grounded objects, such as pipes, central heating radiators,
stoves and refrigerators. The risk of injury by electrical shock is greater when your body is connected to the
ground.
Do not expose the power tools to rain, dampness or wetness. Never touch power tools with wet hands. Never
wash power tools under running water or immerse them in water.
Never work with tools if damaged in any way.
If the power tools are used in damp environment or outdoors, their use is permitted only if connected in an
electric circuit with a 30mA residual current device. The use of a residual current device reduces the risk of
electric shock.
Please hold the hand-held tools solely by insulated grip areas as cutting or drilling accessories may get into
contact with the tools’ hidden wire or power cord during operation.
Personal safety
Take care and caution while using power tools and pay utmost attention to the activity being performed.
Concentrate on your work. Do work with power tools if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol
or medication. Even a momentary lapse of attention while using power tools may lead to serious personal
injury. Do not eat, drink or smoke while working with the tools.
Use personal protective working aids. Always use eye protection. Use the protective equipment fit for the type
of work being performed. Use protective aids such as respirator, safety footwear with anti-slip soles, head
cover or hearing protection appropriately to the work conditions; they reduce the risk of personal injury.
Avoid unintentional powering the tools. Do not carry the tools connected to power supply with your finger
on the switch or trigger. Before connecting to power supply, make sure that the switch or trigger is set in the
“off” position. Carrying the power tool with a finger on the trigger or connecting the power tool's plug with the
switch engaged may lead to serious injuries.
Remove all adjustment tools and spanners before turning on the power tools. An adjustment tool or spanner
left attached to a rotating part of the power tools may result in personal injury.
Always maintain a stable stance and balance. Only work in locations that you can reach safely. Never
overestimate your own power. Do not use the power tools if you are tired.
Dress in an appropriate manner. Use work clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery.
Make sure that your hair, clothing, gloves or other part of your body does not get in close proximity to rotating
or hot parts of the power tools.
Connect a dust vacuum cleaner. If the tools are equipped with the option to connect a dust vacuum cleaner
or a dust collection system, make sure they are properly connected and used. The use of such equipment
may limit the danger posed by the created dust.
Firmly fasten the workpiece. Please use a carpentry clamp or a vice to fasten the workpiece to be machined.
