IMPORTANT After turning the ignition key to STOP and
having closed the driver's side door, wait at least one
minute before disconnecting and then reconnecting the
battery electrical supply.
EMERGENCY STARTING
When jump starting, never connect the negative lead (–)
of the auxiliary battery to the negative pole A-fig. 115 of
the car battery, but rather to an engine/gearbox earth
point.

CAR INACTIVITY
If the vehicle is not used for a long period (or if the bat-
tery is replaced), it is necessary to disconnect the battery
electric supply; to execute this type of operation very care-
fully proceed as follows:

press the button A-fig. 114 to remove the connector
B from the sensor C monitoring the battery conditions
(the latter is on the negative pole of the battery).
When replacing the battery, always go to
a Fiat Dealership. Replace the battery us-
ing a new one of the same type (HEAVY DUTY)
and having the same specifications.
