Undertaking network settings
If you have created a connection with the Device Manager,
you can also modify the network settings of the devices with
the Device Manager. You can:
– assign the IP address automatically (requires a DHCP
server in the network).
– assign a fixed IP address.
Assign IP address auto­
matically Select this setting if you are using a DHCP server in your
network and if the IP address is to be assigned automatic­
ally via DHCP (DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol). The DHCP server manages a range of IP ad­
dresses and assigns them to the DHCP-capable terminals.
Specify fixed IP address If you are not using a DHCP server, you must specify a fixed
IP address. Make sure here that the IP address and the net
mask of the devices are suited to the network settings of
your PC. If you have any questions, consult your system
administrator.
