Operation
9.1
Operation as an individual station
Before filling the main tank, close the hand valve in the drain line. The intended supply line for connecting
an upstream PA station is sealed with a blanking plug. The liquid is poured directly into the main tank from
above. In automatic mode, you can select whether a certain number of bottles are filled with a specific filling
quantity (batch) or whether the station is operating continuously, that is, the dosing tank is filled by the
main tank when the level is undershot and any number of bottles can be filled. After selecting the automatic
mode “Batch” or “Continuous” and selecting a recipe, the liquid is pumped from the main tank with the
pump into the dosing tank and the bottling process starts.
To empty the tanks, the hand valve in the drain line is opened. To do this, insert a suitable piece of pipe or
hose at the end piece to drain the medium into a bucket or similar.
9.2
Operation as a downstream station
The station Abfüllen can be combined with the individual stations of Filtration, Reactor, and Mixing to form a
single system. Various variants are possible:
•
Upstream PA stations:
Mixing Station, Reactor Station, Filtration Station;
MPS-D: Distributing/Conveyor Station
• Downstream PA stations:
all the MPS PA stations (new);
MPS-D: Pick & Place
If the Bottling station is the last station, the liquid from the upstream station is filled directly into the main
tank. In optional operation as a downstream station, the output of the feed pump PL2 is connected to the
downstream station via a tube. The main tank can thus be pumped out manually, such as if the Filtration
Station or the first station in the system has been connected via a tubing line. Before filling the main tank,
the hand valve must be closed in the drain line and opened in the inflow (upstream PA station). The liquid is
then pumped by the pump of the upstream PA station into the main tank of the Bottling station. If there are
no stations for bottle feeding, bottles are placed manually at the beginning of the conveyor belt. After the
bottling process has been completed, the bottles must be removed manually at the end of the conveyor belt.
If the main tank is already filled with liquid, the pumping process cannot be started from the previous
station. The controller reports "Station busy".
Communication between the MPS PA stations takes place via 4mm safety laboratory cables and the
communication fields, as with MPS-D stations. Tank overflows in the Bottling station are monitored using
float switches. The overflow protection is coupled to upstream and downstream stations using an optical
transmitter and receiver.
