Tie down example.
Due to the different behaviour and breadth of load conditions, different anchoring or tie down
equipment should not be used (for example, tie down chains and fabric straps) to anchor the
same load. Attention should also be given to the fact that the auxiliary hooks (components)
and tie down devices within the load's tie down device are compatible with the fabric strap.
Handling Precautions
Before unloading part of the load, the respective fabric straps must be released so that it can
be freely lifted from the load platform.
While loading and unloading, you must pay attention to the proximity of any aerial power
lines.
The materials with which the fabric straps are manufactured have a selective resistance to
chemical attack: the polyester is resistant to mineral acid, but is subject to attack by alkali
(e.g., ammonia, sodium hydroxide).
Avoid damage to the labels by keeping away from the load's sharp edges and, if possible, the
load itself.
The mesh must be protected against friction, abrasion and damage caused by loads with
sharp edges through the use of protective sleeves and/or corner protectors.
To correctly tie down the load, proceed as follows:
1. Attach the hook on the strap to one side of the load
and stretch the strap.
2. Attach the hook on the tightening ratchet to the
other side of the load.
3. Pass the loose end of the strap through the slot in
the drum of the tightening ratchet.
